Well to pick up where we left off, Carlos wrapped up his diving lessons in Boracay and became a certified Open Water Diver!!!!! On his last dive I decided to go out with him (sorry Mom). I haven't been diving since Australia in 2005, so I had to refresh my memory about the technique. The water was rough that day, so the visibility was kind of poor, and as usual I had trouble equalizing (basically, popping your ears). Other than that it was a good dive, lots of fish and it felt good to be back in the water again.
The last night there we got to witness another amazing sunset along the beach, and decided to have dinner at the same place we went to the first night because we really enjoyed the live music. The same guy was playing and actually played some Dave Matthews for us, so it was perfect! After dinner Carlos was very tired but I dragged him to go get massages! Every time we walked past these ladies during the day they would say "Massage Mamn-sir?" and then we'd say "no thank you" and then, in unison, they would yell "WHY NOT TRY MASSAGE!" Super cute! And for 350 php (around $10 Canadian) how could I pass it up. So around 10pm we had hour long massages on the beach... it was wonderful. Half swedish, half thai - a perfect combination! When it was over Carlos was sound asleep and the ladies laughed as he wouldn't budge when I tried to wake him. The sign of a great massage I think! Finally, I was able to wake him and feeling so relaxed, we stumbled along the beach back to our place.
