Saying Goodbye to The Philippines

It's definitely a sad thing to leave such a beautiful place, but I think The Philippines was much more for both Jen and I then we ever expected. To tell the truth, we didn't know much about it even after planning to go there. Aside from a few people mentioning some attractions in passing conversation, and maybe a photo or two, we arrived with little expectations, but high hopes. The Philipppines is one of the more often skipped stops on the South East Asian Circuit, and in my opinion a mistake on any one's part who decides to do so. With all the variety and expectation a Westerner has of an Asian country, this should be at the top of most lists. The enthusiasm and kindness of the Filipino people, along with English as a second language makes traveling the country not only easy, but also enjoyable. Our highlights were definitely Boracay, Sabang, my diving, and Jen getting her first tattoo.... Just kidding Mrs LeBlanc! Number one was without a doubt though, was El Nido. It had crystal clear water, beauty beyond belief and amazing people to compliment it all. This was one of the best places I've ever been! We are excited for the rest of the trip, but the Philippines will be missed. The photographic end of things went great, and it was a perfect start to our trip. It's tough to keep up with the posts, but we hope we have shown you enough to appreciate the beauty that we saw and maybe enticed you to do a trip of your own one day soon!

Hey Hey Cebu

After Bohol, Carlos and I went back to Cebu and decided to splurge on a nice hotel on our last night in the Philippines before we flew to Jarkata. We checked in and even asked for a late check out so we could enjoy even and extra hour of luxury. It was so nice to take a shower and not feel dirtier coming out then you did going in (some showers are pretty nasty). Everything was perfect... until... I was checking the plane itinerary from Cebu to Jakarta so I could email my friend the details... that's when I looked at the ticket and one word stuck out the most: Manila! We were in Cebu, and the plane was flying out of Manila! That's like being in Vancouver and realizing your flight the next day actually leaves from Edmonton instread! This is when I discovered Carlos deals with stress by laughing hysterically! I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed that instread of relaxing until 1pm in our luxurious hotel, we checked out just after 5am to head to theairport too make sure we could get on a flight to Manila, but at least our final day n the Philippines was an interesting one!
